Best Vacuum Cleaner For Hoovering Carpets, Not An Upright One.

Looking to replace my Panasonic vacuum cleaner and wondered if anyone could recommend the best make for hoovering carpets, not an upright one.

We've got a Dyson which we have had for years and years, and it is the best cleaner I have ever used.

OK, so it's an upright, but with built in tools and hose for awkward places.

I will definitely go Dyson again next time (if it ever finally dies)

Wouldnt swop my little "Henry" for another one.
Best hoover ever, sucks everything up and has really good attachments for getting in awkward places. Hooray henry.

Hoppy, Don't you find the hose a bit too stiff? Like it's not loose enough? When my Dyson is at the bottom of the stairs, and I'm at the top with the hose, it gets scary. Twice now I've managed to whack myself in the face with it... and hard! :(

Yes, that is a fair comment Madmen. Also the hose is a bit awkward for getting down the side of the seats in the car.

I have Dyson upright and Henry for the stairs....good boy Henry is ..does the job..

I have had 2 Dysons over the years and never had a problem with them. I've had a Dc14 animal for the last 7 years and it's taken plenty of abuse and still going strong. All 'new' vacuum cleaners seem so much better than the old one because they are new, the motors is new, the filters are new etc. Sometimes just getting the old one serviced could give it a whole new lease of life, and cheaper than a new one (especially a Dyson)
