pay sites on the internet

is there anyway to set your pc's internet connection up to stop any pay sites coming in. a friends son has been into some of these sites and they are unable to remove the shortcut icons etc. any help would be welcome

Sounds to me like you have Spyware on your computer. I would recommend you download a free program that searches for Spyware on your comp and destroys it. I use Spybot Search & Destroy but I don't think it's available any more. Try doing a search on Google for something similar. Hope this helps

I would reccomend Lavasoft's Ad-aware download it at http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/ .Should blast any spyware. Also consider an ADSL Broadband connection. Not only is surfing the internet immeasurably better. These programs can't drop your connection and dial up a premium phone line.

Spybot Search And Destroy is still available, at least it was when I downladed it on Monday.
