I have taken a 75mg dispersible aspirin daily for about a year with no problems. I ran out of them about 2 weeks ago and kept forgetting to buy more. The other morning I woke at 4.30 am with a headache and came downstairs. I couldn't find any paracetamol so I took 2 x 300mg aspirin and went back to bed. When I got up 2 hours later I looked like the elephant man with a very swollen face. At the time I didn't know what could have caused it.
I bought some 75mg aspirin yesterday and took one at bedtime. Lo and behold this morning I again look like a freak and can can barely open my puffy eyes.
Is it possible to develop such a sudden allergy to aspirin, which has never caused me problems before?
You may need to avoid ibuprofen too. May be worth ringing out-of-hours doctor for advice on painkillers and whether you should take some antihistamine too.
Take care x
aspirin is an NSAID. The other thing is different manufacturers use different ingredients to make the actual "pill" perhaps you are allergic to something else in the aspirin - especially if it was a different make

Don't bother......nobody else does..;-)
Both aspirin and ibuprofen are Nsaids but hypersensitivity to one does not necessarily mean hypersensitivity to the other........your post gave excellent advice.
