My OH always has something sweet after he has eaten, he will say he is full when eating main course, then get pudding, when I mention that he'd said he was full he says there is always room for pudding. I very rarely eat puddings, how many of you always find room for something sweet?

As a child if we didn't finish dinner then no pudding. As an adult I do as I please.
did you not know we have two stomachs? one for savoury, one for sweet. the savoury one can be completely stuffed, and yet................. ;o)
Not often. I did have a craving yesterday for a stodgy pudding and sent oh out to buy something. We had apple crumble and custard :)
That's my Mum, she must have something sweet after a meal to satisfy her hunger.
No wonder there is an obesity problem these days.

Hopkirk, my understanding of your statement is that you are implying all people you eat pudding or such are obese. I beg to differ; my Mum is thin and petite like myself.
We've never really had pudding but when I was younger I always had a spoon full of sugar after dinner. I really don't know why but I craved something sweet, full up or not.

Hopkirk - obesity isn't just about what you eat, it's lack of activity.
Agree with you Hopkirk.
Doesn't correlate, hopkirk or viv.

I have just been looking into the UK cake, baking and dessert markets for some consultancy work that I have undertaken. The market has been in backwardation since 2006, more recently driven by the impact of the recession and the weight-watchers market (by 6.2%). There are areas of increase such as in home-baking (economy and the Great British Bake-off) and diet products, the market for occasion cakes and desserts slightly increasing, the hit being in the brand cake, bakery and dessert segments.

So not too many people follow the pudding rule then, sorry for the delay in replying but I was on a three hour walk with the dog and the grand kids as I did manage to have a pudding the other night, felt I had to do some form of exercise after it.
