Actually I am furious
I have just found out that the overtime I have been doing since march will be unpaid and I have to take flexi instead
I would not mind if I could take my holidays when I wanted but I have to take them to suit other people's childcate needs
Other people who are on 3x the salary I am

flexi time is tax free, overtime isnt
Yes I know crafty, although wouldn't want to with that other one, you know usually appears on a Sunday, or bank holiday Mondays.

Question Author
No I won't finish the OT because I am an idiot and don't like letting folk down
Ric.ror, it sounds to me like they are understaffed, are they doing anything about it ?.
Question Author
Yes we are understaffed
The promoted one is being replaced early July and the supposedly sick one is off until mid july
So Ric.ror, you'll be understaffed until July then.
Question Author
Yes so I guess I could take the whole of August off
Except certain people will need time off for the school hols
Bloody hell, Ric.ror your between a rock and a hard place with this one then.
Question Author
I know I feel total exploited
Yep Ric.ror, I can well understand your feelings, could you not have a talk to someone in HR about this ?.
If they really are short staffed, when they realise how inconvenient it will be for them to give you all this extra time off, they may agree to 'pay in lieu' instead (at single time rates) for some or all of it.
I would be well upset about this and not give up without a fight. Tell your boss since you are not paid at least give you the time off to suit you. Can you call out sick?
