What I can't understand is that if they were separated why was his wife always in the spotlight even at the press conference and at the flowers on Sunday. I know it is a terrible tragedy but his fiance seems to have been left out or maybe it was her wish not to be in the spotlight. May he rest in peace.

When the press conference was held, his fiancé was in Afghanistan, as a serving soldier herself. They flew her back.

Just re read the sunday paper yes she flew back on Friday so yes she would not have been at the conference but she was not there as far as I could see or mentioned on Sunday . Still a tradgedy for the wife even separated as she had a child.
