Rights of Tied Cottage Residents.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a website that gives the rights of a resident of a tied cottage when they are facing eviction/sale of their house.

My ex wifes's father lives in a tied cottage. As a water bailiff and river keeper his employers provide tied housing for him. He can live in the property as long as he remains employed. They can't sell the property from under him and his rights are quite extensive. More so than ordinary tennants rights. I suspect that you will need to check any covenants attached to the tied agreement to see what rights the landowner has in respect of the property. This can be done through a solicitor.

Just to give you a bit more background their employer is going through a messy divorce and the buisness may have to split up which includes the tied cottage.

X-ray the trouble is they have been in the house 34 years and as far as I aware there is no agreement on paper.
