Husband and wife are joint tenants. Mortgage was on a wife's name but both they're name are on a title. Wife died 3 month ago. Is it possible to change the mortgage to the husband's name without refinancing?

It sounds unlikely, but you would need to ask the lender to be sure. Legally it's a new mortgage but they may be prepared to do it on the same conditions as the old one.

Was there no endowment policy (!) or life insurance to pay off the mortgage on death?
