Reluctant Readers

I thought I'd mention this site here in case anyone has a reluctant teenage reader in their family. The books are written by an Irish author who seeks to provide books which are not too long and off-putting for the reluctant reader but still relevant and current in subject matter. However, they are not so versed in the Irish culture that they wouldn't be relevant to teenagers anywhere.

My sympathies. I was a reluctant reader 11-16 and all I can say is: harping on it didnt do much good.

Being 50 y ago, my parents were keen on compulsory this and compulsory that.

I realised early on that my Eng Lang was weak, compared to others but didnt know what to do about it. In the end I read all the Narnia books
Oh, and I was encouraged to write a diary - just three sentences a day - and this was corrected ONLY for grammar and not content.
