How brave you are!! I did this last week, regretted it and added a blanket!!
Our family used to follow this mantra too maydup. From the first of June onwards we were allowed to leave our vests off. The bedding plants were planted and summer was upon us. Still got vests at the ready this year though.

Lol, the vests are not far away, and the courgettes plants are still under cover, but a few bedding plants went out today too. Wow, I have been busy.
Apparently the old verse refers to the Blossom of the May tree (Hawthorne) rather than the month of may Our May tree blossom is still not out!!!!! (but I have cast a few clouts today) ;o)
But of course I am still wearing my liberty bodice.........
Question Author
Of course, the May blossom. Its out here and in full scent today. How Ii love it.
Silly me, I casted my clouts a couple of weeks ago cos it was quite warm, and then it got cold, but quilt had been put away so had to pile covers on the bed, still got them, not that warm yet here in Ibiza.
We still have our winter duvets on and are jolly glad of them at night at the moment
Nice to see all these faces on this thread, ( sorry for hijacking maydup ). I often wondered where the saying originated from. Now I know !
Question Author
I've never been, but thought it was permanently warm in Ibiza! Obviously not.
I barely have on a clout to cast.....
We don't change our duvets, just stick a blanket on the top if it's cold....

I've never known whether the "out" in the saying means "blossoming" or "finished". I love the smell of hawthorn flowers.
