Alphabetising Your Travel Guides

if you were putting your travel guides on your book shelf in alphabetical order by country and then by state/county/province within each country, where would you put a guide to alaska?

at work the book person insists on putting the lonely planet guide to alaska under A and next to Africa and before australia, whereas, california through to washington state comes after the USA guides in U Am I being pedantic?

i spend the occasional recreational half hour moving capital cities to their rightful home nation, it's become a bit of a joke. I'm a geographical snob but i got grade 1 geog 'o' level so can't help it. BTW, would you but Dubai under D or under U?

good question, it belongs under U with Sharjah and Fujairah, only hardly anybody knows this (unlike Alaska, which most people know is in the USA). If you put it in the right place people might not be able to find it. I think at times like this I'd put up a little sign saying "Dubai, see UAE".
