this discussion has probably been done to death on here.
Himself yesters said that the student alba will be in at dinner time. For me, that's between 5 and 7pm
Lunch is between noon and 2pm
According to himself, dinner time is between noon and 2, and it's teatime between 5 and 7.
So I asked him what does he eat when he gets up in the morning?
Answer, food.

That's why the better off have lunch at 1 and dinner in the evening from Monday to Saturday, but dinner at 1 and 'supper' in the evening on Sunday. It's why ordinary folk have dinner at 1. It's also why everyone has Christmas dinner at 1 or as soon thereafter as the company can be heard complaining. And a Sunday lunch is a lighter, more casual, meal than dinner.
Me, I'd take himself's answer as meaning about 7 .
