A place where, according to Bede, the monks were obliged to leave their doors open all year round, to remind them of their duty of hospitality to travellers

This is a place somewhere between Coninsby and Market Rasen (Lincolnshire area)

Thanks again!

Have you checked out Bardney Abbey? Apparently gave rise to a Lincolnshire joke when someone left a door open, although the open-door custom is also attributed to a story of the monks shutting out the body of St Oswald until corrected by a miracle.
