Wisteria Flowering Despite Pruning Wrongly
I did it deliberately ...pruned one of my Wisteria according to the book i.e. in Sept and Jan/Feb. it has a reasonable show of flowers.
Wisteria no.2 near it- I pruned to 2 buds in Sept so I would not need to prune in Jan/Feb, I was warned I would probably not get flowers on it but it is Smothered with blossom!!
This year I will reverse the pruning and see if Wisteria no.1 flowers like mad next year after single pruning, and how no 2 re-acts to pruning twice.
So is pruning twice an old wives tale, is this a freaky result, has anyone else done this?
They are both the same age and planted on the Pergola opposite each other.

I prune mine just after flowering (in about2 weeks atm) then again in early August. Final prune is about late October just to tidy up and make sure my windows are clear.
Never fails to give a great display any year.
