I've sold a couple of ornaments on ebay and sent them 1st class signed for (£6.25), they arrives and the buyer says they are damaged. The buyer joined ebay 1 hour before they placed the winning bid. they say it is their first ebay ourchase, i took 12 pictures of the items pre-packing/posting. I have replied to the buyer attaching 5 photos, as that is the limit, they replied doubting that i had taken 12 pictures, therefore i have replied attaching a further 5 and asking if they would like the other 2 aswell. i have explained the ebay rules that they can return the item (at their expense) va a signed for/tracked service and if i agree with them i will refund the purchase price plus the postage, they are being quite rude and it suggests to me they are a seasoned EBAYER that for some reason had to set up a new account. what do you think?

Open the case dotty, keep it going. I do as Hc says but that was for stuff damaged in transit. If they don't like it, they can send it back (but post at their expense, I'll only refund what they paid me in the first place).
Too scary for me too. Would be awake all night wondering if what ---
I don't mind selling to newbies, we all had to start somewhere.

i agree boxy, it's the first time i've felt anything on there was so dodgy.

yes but this person literally joined and then placed the bid,
Yes dot, this person joined in order to place a bid.
Make sure they return the items with ALL the original packing, you need it to put in a claim for damage with the Post Office.
Question Author
no the post office are not at fault, they are not saying it was damaged in transit they are saying that both figourines have obvious repairs, cheeky bleepers
If you click on their name and look at their profile, on the top right of that page it will tell you when they joined Ebay.
If they have previously had an Ebay account under another name it will tell you. If there is nothing there, they are telling porkies
Just start a complaint with ebay , they will look at the case and make a decision.
I have just won a similar case, the buyer said a new item I sold was dirty and damaged and demanded a full refund without returning the item, I offered a 50% refund which he refused and escalated the case to ebay. They told him to return the item by recorded delivery before I made a refund, he did not return it so ebay closed the case and I did not have to refund anything.
