Rage: Have I Missed Out?

Spotted a copy of Virtua Fighter 5 pre-owned in 'Game' for £7.50. Got this for Booldawg Jnr.

As they were offering 2 games for a tenner I also picked up a copy of Rage. Unfortunately the disc was damaged, it doesnt get past the opening sequence.

Not really worth making the 30 odd mile round trip to Game for the sake of whats essentially a couple of quid.

Is the game any good? Have I missed out?

If I just couldve installed the game on the HDD I guess disc one only needs to be present in the DVD drawer for anti-piracy reasons? Maybe I will perservere....

There is a lot of love out there for it but I got it cheap and played for a couple of hours but didn't think much of it. I may continue at some point.

In what way is the disc damaged? If it is just scratched or marked get the brasso to it!

thanks matt - I shouldve asked if there was a way to try and repair it. It doesnt look obviously scratched.

I've just been on YT and the game play looks pretty good.

Its basically Borderlands done in a more 'adult' way.
If you like that then you'll like this but I wasn't a fan of the 'go here get given a task go there and complete task now go back to report task done' etc etc

Have you tried one of those disc restorer gismos, consisting of contra-rotating wetted scrubbing discs, available from your local 99p/£ shop? I have found that they work a treat on DVD film discs.

Gave Matts Brasso tip a whirl and it worked a treat.

Took a couple of polishes but managed to get the disc installed to hard drive.
