I have had a really odd day. There is an alarm going off in the house but when I search for it....it stops. The kettle blew up and cut off all the electricity. I switched on the cooker lights and they blew. One radio keeps switching itself on and off. The computer keeps turning the sound off with a sign I have never seen before appearing on the screen but here is the oddest and I wish I could post a picture of it....I did some shopping yesterday and left the receipts on top of the bread bin.When I went into the kitchen a few minutes ago the three receipts have turned dark brown..but only on the face. The reverse of the receipts are as clear as when I got them. The face of the receipts are unreadable except for...How did we do...on the bottom of the Tesco one.
I wish I believed in ghosts then I could explain it. Now this odd sign is appearing on the lappy again...maybe I'm just going mad... :-(

Of course aliens may not be green and ugly.....they could be dishy and this might be my night....Wooooohoooooo!

'morning, gness! I think your weird happenings have migrated from Rutland to west Wales! It's a nightmare this morning - the computer has gone and got a mind of its own. I can't get any webcams up and when I try & listen to the radio on line, the sound keeps going off. So frustrating...I'm going to feed the chickens & see if things improve later.

gness - where the receipts together in your bag -could they have picked up something -like perfume or a wet wipe while in your bag? the Pagan part of me is saying light a white candle and sprinkle some salt around -the sensible part is saying you had a rndom electrical fault which hopefully is now resolved by the electrician -and the receipts got damaged in your bag. Whatever it is hope you are feeling better and healing vibes sent to your leg ;-)

WHOooooo...No, the receipts went from purse to bread bin to brown to black..not wet or wrinkly.....Have found some Holy Water in a statue of the Virgin....it's mother's so may be Poteen.
My radio station is playing up too, K but they say the problem is with them...I have switched off to give them a chance though...
TWR....Spirits were needed last night but the Baileys sufficed...x
Electrician has arrived...I have sprinkled him with the contents of ma's Virgin...just in case... ;-)

Had to chuckle there, gness! I'm pleased to report that everything here seems to be back to normal. Just a thought on the bread bin phenomena - is there any bread inside? It could be that any heat given off by the bread (the yeast) is permeating the bin and affecting the receipts??? Long shot, I know, but remotely possible...

Possible, if they've been there as long as mine have! When they go slightly stale, they make a great bread & butter pudding.

It seems you have a mixture of things going off natural and unnatural.
The cooker and kettle, they could be the fuses going in the electrics.
Computers every now and again do decide to do their own thing, lol even mine sometimes loses it volume until i reboot it again from the beginning.
Radio switching itself off and on, if its the button you can see if being presses in and out or the switch has changed postions on the radio, thats more paranormal. if it just goes off and on with no buttons on it changing positions, its more to do with the electrics in the walls.
The receipts depends on what they are made with. sometimes contact with air and light can make them go darker, hence them being brown on the top, not the bottom.

I suggest you do a recreation experiment to determine this. If you have another reciept from tescos from similar material made from it (some are shiny surfaced, some arnt) then do the same thing again, put them on the bread bin. Especially on a day like today, its nice and sunny and sunlight can destroy pigments sometimes. Then if it hasnt happened again, you know the first time was paranormal.

The radio when you switch it on, make sure you are aware of the positions of the buttons. so if it does go off, you can check the plug wall, buttons on the radio to see if they havent moved. If they have moved to the off postion, you know its paranomal. if they have not moved and its gone off, its circuitry in the walls.

Also if you can get a person to check your electrics, following the wires with a special meter can see if theres any breaks around that needs re-wiring and also can check your fuses.
