When one of my daughters was being teased about her freckles, I told her what I was told when I was little ... a face without freckles is like a sky without stars. The lass hasn't been bothered about them since, so make of that what you will

It depends on the woman - some women look seriously cute with freckles, some less so - it all adds up to the beautiful pictture though.

I'm covered in them and I've never had any problems! In the sun they even come out on my lips. My kids have loads too and they give my son a lovely mischievous look. My daughter has one on the palm of her hand and one day she exclaimed from the back of the car that one had fallen off her cheek, sweet.

Heat honey slightly and apply to face, tap face gently with your fingers. Wash honey off with warm water then rinse with cool water. Stir in a little quantity of wheat germ into the honey before applying.

To lighten freckles, mash 1/4 cup of unripe currants and mix with 1 tbsp. of unpasteurized honey. Put on freckles and leave on for half an hour. Rinse off with warm water and dab on diluted fresh lemon juice.
