I have a large, straggly rosemary bush and would like to take cuttings. Can anyone advise the best time of year and how to proceed? thanks in advance

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.You have to layer rosemary cuttings. Get a few long strands, and nick them underneath so that the nicked bit can be buried in soil around the original plant.
You may have to use a tent-peg or old clothes peg to hold them down into the soil. They should start to root from the cut. Cut them off and move them when they seem to have sturdy roots. I don't think the time of year has ever made any difference when I have done this
