Problem With Breaks

i have a corsa and used my car the other day and when I pressed the breaks it seemed to shudder and I noticed the abs light would come on. Anyone now what this could be? Thanks in advance

Brake judder is frequently associated with distorted brake discs. Get them checked!

Does the ABS light come on when to start the car and then stay on ?.

Also of course it could just mean you braked very hard or on a slippery surface and that your ABS came into effect - which does feel like juddering.

No its not on when I start the car, if I break hard it doesnt happen if I brake geadually then u can feel it and the abs sometimes flickers on

Could be as Buenchico says warped brake discs or maybe one of the ABS (at the wheels) playing up.
