Water Spilt On Laptop
9 Answers
Water was spilt over apple mac laptop yesterday.we tried to dry it out with hairdryer from a distance, some keys weren't working and the delete button wouldn't work.Today when logging on,it says to putt in a password in the Mac OS box, which never seen before. It doesn't recognise usual password and when you press delete button now,it adds to the password!Do you think the laptop will ever get back to normal and what is wrong with it do you think?

I did the same with a cup of tea the other week....:o( Plugging in an external USB keyboard has sorted the problem out although it is a little cumbersome.

as mentioned above, the best bet is to leave it somewhere warm and dry for at least 24hours before switching it on again, then if it's only water that was spilt on it there is a good chance of it working fine again.
If not, then it would only need a new keyboard, which are actually surprisingly cheap for most macbooks, the charge for physically replacing it would probably be more if you can't DIY or know somebody that can.
