no ereaders are all black and white, tablets like the Kobo Arc are colour inclusing when you read kids books, but the idea of an ereader for reading books is that you get the same visual experience as reading the page of a book, which is not in colour.
you can read white on black if you prefer,

My daughter was only saying that children would want to see pics in the books in colour...so which e-readers have a colour option?
no ereaders have the colour option but all colour tablets that have built in ereaders have colour as does every laptop or computer if you download the right app, you will have downloaded the KOBO desktop when you hooked the glo up to your laptop, you can now read any book including colour on your actual laptop as the kobo desktop allows that
For a child, you would probably be better with a tablet. The advantage of black and white ereaders is the battery life is huge - weeks without needing recharging - and they are very comfortable to read in bright sunlight.

A good tablet will have hd resolution ideal for picture books, and you can almost certainly get an ereader app that is black and white only for reading outdoors.
books on a colour tablet have the look of an ordinary paperback page, exactly the same as on your glo
