I know one thing about them & that is that they will die if you or something in the environment keeps making them snap shut constantly when they haven't caught anything. Not sure why or how I know that...but If you talk to a reputable grower of exotic plants (try the Eden project) they will give you tips.
There's a lot of info here

Hi,
They are fairly easy to keep, just stick to these rules.
1 (and most important) always water with rain water or distilled water, not tap or bottled. stand the plant in around 1/2 inch of waterthroughout the summer and it's growing period.
2 Dont close the traps unless you are using live insects to do it.
3 Mist the plant daily with rain or distilled water.
4 Never use any kind of fertiliser on it
5 move it into a cool room with no direct sun untill it begins to grow again in the spring, keep it just moist at this time.
6 in the growing period give it as much sun as you can, if it gets plenty the inside of the traps will go red and it looks prettier :-)
If you follow these rules you will be fine.
it uses a lot of their energy to open and close only worthwhile for them when there is a (reward the food)
