Just been checking a recent thread, and it occurred to me, has anyone asked, what's everyone's favourite song of all time, and why, please? Mine changes regularly, but for the last couple of months it's been 'Sara', by Stevie Nicks/Fleetwood Mac. Quite beautiful. Does anyone else like this one?

Would be interested to read any replies, thanks a lot.

When i'm driving it's got to be L.A. Woman by The Doors. But the rest of the time it can change regularly, at the moment it's the live version of Comfortably Numb on Pulse by Pink Floyd for the guitar solo by Dave Gilmour at the end. Absolute class.
Preciosa by Marc Anthony
Crossroads by Cream.
Everlong by Foo Fighters
I'm with jonny.....comfortably numb by pink floyd....it's got everything
just to echo prev replies re pink Floyd
Comfortably Numb so good makes the hair on back on my neck stand up lol and have to agree 100% about the Dave Gilmour solo bit
Wont' get fooled again--The Who
depending on my mood but Ledzeppelin "since ive been loving you" is always a good one or Bob marley "three little birds"
for the last two or so years my fave song has been "turn the page" bye the streets off the album original pirate material it is absolutely brilliant!!!
Ever since it came out - Don Henleys Boys of Summer. Sends shivers down my spine for some reason?!!
A choice of 3 for me - Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd,Freebird - Lynard Synard and Uncertain Smile - The The.
All full versions of course.
'Nothing Left Toulouse' by Sad Caf
Beauty of the Beast by Nightwish
Penny Lane, Beatles - in many ways a perfect pop song.

Planet Telex, Radiohead - it's got pretty much everything I want in a rock song - great textures & dynamics, spaceshippy sound effects, a brief but inpenetrable lyric, nice riffs - whenever I re-do my Radiohead compilation disc I always stick this one at the end as it sums them up for me.

Witchita Lineman, Glen Campbell - unbeatable melody.

To answer the original question, no I hate Sara - can't stand Nicks's larry-the-lamb voice.
PS re the Floyd references - just to balance things, as everyone seems to pick Numb when choosing Floyd faves, I was listening to Meddle yesterday and concluded that my personal favourite PF track, by a long, long stretch, is Fearless.
Sorry, gotta cheat with 4. OK, in order off the top of my head:
(1) "Dancing In The Dark", the Boss, Bruce Springsteen;
(2) "Vincent", Don McLean;
(3) "Mathilde", Jacques Brel;
(4) "Passing Strangers", Sarah Vaughan & Billy Eckstein
SO SPECIFIC ONE ANSWER: "Dancing In The Dark" by Bruce Springsteen.
Beat those gang! - lol.
SIQ.

P.S. Just read others in MORE detail - The Who, yup, especially "Waterloo Sunset". Yup, Glen Campbell's "Wichita Lineman" brilliant lyrics and music. Stick to my first choice above though.
I need a small vacation but it don't look like rain - so I'll sign off.
SIQ.
