While they won't be to everybody's taste, those who like this type of music will love them.

Jeza, now that you mention it I see they have it down as a Donovan song. He was OK, Mellow Yellow and the like, but I never thought he would have written something as powerful as that.

Tamborine, I'd always associated Big Bill Broonzy with that particular song. I live and learn.
BBB not on Youtube :(

Maybe you can upload it, if you have it. I'm uploading my dad's old jazz stuff that I cant find on YouTube.
As much as I love your link Sandy they have a few wrong artists.
Donovan did do a cover of it. Before he got into psychedelia he did faux-Dylan folky stuff.
I remember Donovan doing Blowing in the wind in 1965. That wasn't his either.
Thank you sandyRoe
In the words of the late, great Dave Allen: "May your God be with you"
Loving it :-)
I first heard this by Robert Wyatt on the same album as Strange Fruit; haven't listened to the original before. Thank you Tambo.

Donovan sang Catch hte Wind; I don't know if he recorded Blowing in the Wind too.

I thought Broonzy sang Strange Fruit but can't see any trace on utube. Looks like Billie Holiday is mostly associated with it.
Hexagone by Renaud I notice is on there to my surprise and delight.

If I was to add my own:
"Shirt of Blue" by The Men They Couldn't Hang (about the Miners' strike)
"Birmingham Six" by The Pogues (about as angry as it gets)
and probably "Miss Maggie" by that man Renaud again (about you know who, and with a sublime last verse :-)
