Dornier Bomber Raised From The Goodwin Sands
I don't think this has been posted already - it's amazing!

(Apparently a family of lobsters were living in the wreck and tipped out as they raised it.) Astounding that the wings are still attached to the plane, too.

I'm looking forward to visiting the new museum for that in early September.......the Dornier, overall, as it is unique, it should be raised - would be nice if Angela Merkel coughed up a good chunk of the bill....Deutschlanders could have a 10% discount at the door(?).
By the way, boxie, they had to do separate lifts for the two engines and the port wing....

Gromit 'the tax on the poor?' Anyone who plays the lottery does it to win something, at least I do. This Dornier bomber may be the last to be found. It is an aircraft worthy of renovating, the Lancasters and other warplanes are kept in museums, this one is almost intact even the props after 70 years undersea. Why not have a German plane in our collection. Obviously history doesn't mean much to you.
As the tourist industry is about the only thing the present shower haven't wrecked, maybe we should expand to have a whole museum dedicated to our wartime enemies.
The Dornier would be the centrepiece. A glass cabinet nearby could display the aircrew's bones. Waxworks of mangled Londoners and a replica bombed out street could be directly below the aircraft. Throw in some Hitler memorabelia to attract the growing hordes of UKiP supporters. Angela Merkel could do the grand opening next time she is here to give Cameron a whipping.

Pathetic. But as I pointed out in the original thread about this, 2 of the 4 crew survived as POW's, one was buried in Holland and the other repatriated to Germany so it'll be difficult getting hold of said bones.
