A few on here may remember my issue with eBay regarding the sale of a couple of figourines early June, when the buyer reported that the 2 figourines were not as described but had been previously damaged and repaired.
She opened a case immediately even though I was able to provide 12 pictures taken prior to packing that showed they were in mint condition. eBay settled the claim in her favour and refunded her and took the funds from me, solely based on the fact that the buyer wasd able to providse a tracking number for the return parcel.
I collected the parcel from the PO this afternnon. The 2 figures are clearly not the ones sent, these returned ones are indeed showing repairs, they are also filthy, covered in dust and cigarette smoke and the embossed marks in the bases are different to those i posted on my selling page. eBay have now apologised, re-opened the case, decided immediately in my favour and also been able to report the 'buyer' and collate all her accounts at the home address and suspend her from the site.
So, seller beware, the con artists are out there, she's got 2 figures in perfect condition for free! I have a pair of filthy grubby paint spattered damaged figures which eBay suggest i chuck in the bin. they do not want me to return them to her as she may be able to use them again ,

the person had only registered with eBay less than 48 hours before placing the winning bid, despite that, and me telling eBay a dozen times that she was conning me and also sending them pictures, they are unable to tell me quite why they believed her and not me, when today they admit that i have a perfect account, perfect feedback score of 100% and the pictures i sent do not match the pictures she sent, crazy

bernie I'm too lazy to do car boots, I did do a few when i downsized (the house not myself lol )but it's not my cup of tea
You have to get up early in the morning to do car boots, I should think.
At least ebay sorted it in the end. Thank god you had photos to prove your case. I had a similar problem I sold a brand new camera lens to a buyer in the USA. He asked for a full refund plus postage as it was '' damaged, dirty and had a chip in the glass'' which i knew was untrue. He wanted the refund but to keep the lens as well as he said it was not fair that he had to pay for return postage.
I was going to give him a 50% refund but he escalated it to ebay . They gave him 10 days to send it back and upload details of the tracking code. He didn't do it so ebay found in my favour . I am sure it was a scam he just thought he could get a free item by threatening that he would report me to ebay but it backfired.
God I am sorry DeeJay, what a bummer

dotty cant you name & shame this person for us ?
Question Author
lol stanley, i'm really happy now as they have removed the negative feedback too which was another annoying thing
Question Author
no dee as i am the only person they have bought from and they still have nothing up for sale and they have 0 feedback, but they live in farnborough if that helps
dotty glad they found in your favour in the end, when I bid for something I always pay straight away but not so on the odd time I sell something.
Dotty, I'm glad eBay caught up to her dishonesty, and things eventually worked out in your favour. Don't chuck the filthy items out yet. Wait and see how the investigation progresses. Store them in a shoebox in the garage or wherever but don't discard them as yet.
