Went to the Good Food Show on Weds and won a (signed by James Martin) wooden spoon.. just wondering is an autograph the same as a signature... I'll get me coat....

yep, auto means self (eg automobile, self-moving) and graph means writing, so there you are.

(Though technically it doesn't have to be a signature - an autograph nmanuscript just means in the author's own handwriting. But in everyday usage an autograph is a signature.)
