I have been following above post and of course I thought he had to buy Microsoft Windows etc but his computer is probably newer than mine.
Anyway have Windows XP - and I don't like Open Office writer either - can I get microsoft office for typing etc. I did follow some instructions for duzy's post but couldn't get to SAVE AS -tia

To use 'Save as' in OpenOffice, click on 'File', then on 'Save as'. Click on the box where the file type is specified, and then on 'Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP'.
To get OpenOffice to automatically save documents in Microsoft Word format, follow the instructions under 'Change Default Save Format' here:
