Boy #1 is off to Liverpool this week for two days. They are going to the new cathedral, a museum/art gallery, open-topped bus your, boat trip on the Mersey (not a yellow duckmarine thankfully), ten-pin bowling and an evening meal at the Red Hot Buffet. We never did anything that interesting. What are your memories of school trips?

Can't remember using the toilets. They didn't seem that important in those days. Now I need to suss out the toilets wherever I go. (Just in case)
The only school trips at my school was outings to Shakespeare plays. We were kids and bored to tears. It put me off Shakespeare for life.
That was you, Cupid!!!!
Aw, that's a shame Jeza.
On the cruise the highlight was a visit to the engine room. I wore white lacy tights. You can imagine the colour when I emerged!!
We got one outing. It was all the way from Cambridge to the Albert Hall to attend a Prom concert. We sat up "in the Gods" so we got the best effect of the Hall's famous echo; a feature of those days, since removed; so we got two concerts for the price of one. I must have thought it was very grand, because I bought a new suit for the occasion. And that was it, for outings

I fancy this Liverpool trip just for the evening meal - the menu is huge!
Day trips to France, getting pissed on the ferry, stuffing the foil from our packed lunches up the payout slot on the fruit machines on the ferry and then waiting for someone to play them and walk away thinking the machine was empty.

Smuggling back flick knives and mini bangers down our socks

Great times!
The only school trip I remember was a day out on the Dart Valley Railway. There was the odd skiing trip but my Mum said she resented subsidising a free holiday for the teacher. I don`t remember wanting to go anyway - I didn`t like the idea of being on a package deal (I still don`t). I remember my best mate went on the school geology trip and the two teachers were having an affair and were holed up in their tent every night - it was the talk of the school when they came back.
Fabulous school trip in V1th form. A week in the Welsh Marches. Offa's Dyke, Castles, glorious Church architecture, fascinating mediaeval based towns and a week spent in an Elizabethan country house, miles from anywhere. Did manage to smuggle in the wine and cigarettes.
New cathedral? Another one? They've already got two!!

On a recent trip to Paignton zoo, I watched as 3 chavs threw a Penguin into the lions enclosure, it was quite horrible watching it.

Those poor lions just couldn't get that wrapper off!! :-)
