I have to fit an extractor fan in our small bathroom, the type that is fitted to a window ( wall and ceiling fittings are not an option). Anyone care to recommend one please? Also I'm getting conflicting views about a switch, again any opinions?
Hi, I'm afraid I can't help, only, do you really need one? We had a new bathroom and shower fitted. The bathroom fitter said they are a waste of time and it would be just as effective opening the window. We never had condensation problems then or now so it makes sense not to bother.
I have a bathroom with no window and an extractor fan that it operated by the light and the relative humidity. This works really well, but I have never known the window sort work well.
Whenever it has to be fitted to glass, I've usually used a standard bathroom extractor fan. The same as fitted to walls and ceilings.
It means having a double glazing unit made with a 100mm hole for the fan. Somewhere in a corner of the glass, to keep the flex as short as possible.
We used to have an Expelair in our kitchen, in a former house, and we were very pleased with it. It was easy to clean, never broke down, and was very quiet. If you can still get that brand, I think that you'll be pleased with it.
