A Good Pet Hair Hoover
17 Answers
Hi everyone. I was not sure where to post this, so i thought i would put it in here as this seems to be a "general category?"
My question is can anyone recommend a good hoover for pet hair?. I need a new one. My two dogs are malting and i would like to invest in a decent one that will last.

I bought a Dyson, I think the model is number is the 24. It's specifically good at removing pet hair. I also bought it because it is a light-weight model, only just over 5kg if I remember rightly. There's a 5 year guarantee too, so it's not too bad for the price, low maintenance too, with just a monthly rinsing of the filters, though the beater bar is easily removed too, the amount of hair accumulated sometimes has to be cut off. However, I would not be without mine.
Looked up Meile Cat and Dog in Argos - Gawd they dont come cheap at £279. I had a dyson some years ago - and I threw into a skip with the weight of it.
I have two Bissell hoovers - one for up and down stairs - and they are great for Mr harv's hairs - and only about £80 - will be my next hoover too - btw I can only use upright so didn't check price of cylinder.

I have had my Dyson hand held pet hair "hoover" for 5 years its marvellous [and light to hold] for any long haired dog/pet, also pine needles from the xmas tree, the car interior well anything really, you can buy a wall mounting to keep it charged up, pay the extra for the pet hair model, if there was a fire in our house I would go back for it !
