I use sub titles for some films or programmes where speech quality is poor.
The sub titles have stopped working.
I am using a Sony Bravia TV and Sky.
The Sky Sub Title control toggles on & off and the screen display shows titles ON, but there are none.
Any suggestions please?
Meant to add I have a Sony Bravia TV and Sky+but the techies will help no matter what make of TV you have.No problems with sub titles which I always use on Emmerdale-can never make out what Cameron and Chas are saying!!

Subtitles come up - turn them ON
ENSURE YOU SAVE NEW SETTINGS - bob's your uncle and fanny's your aunt - hope that helped buzzard. - getting through the guys on the phone a nightmare. good luck Conne
Hi,Connemmara,I never thought of giving instructions as I assumed Buzzardist knew how to get sub titles but it didn't work. Good idea to advise him to save new settings-I sometimes forget to do that.
Sorry everyone, I posted a reply but for some reason it has not appeared:
this is not a good week!
Thanks Connemara, I already went down that route with no success so I rang Sky. The helpline said they did not understand the problem...I gave up in exasperation. Tried again, "you are in a queue and will be answered in 10 minutes".
I'll try again when my blood pressure has subsided!
buzzard - sorry the info didn't work because it is so very easy - however, you can turn on the subtitles on your Sony Bravia just as easy. I dont have the Sony only Samsung so turning them on would be different. My sister has Sony Bravia and I could get the information from her for you - it could be a while as I only see her on a Sunday. Another thing if you have the instruction book for Sony - it will tell you how to turn the subtitles too. Conne
Thanks again Connemmmara you're a real pal! But, Halleluja, we are back up and running again thanks to one very patient helper at Sky who talked me through various routes and recovered the subtitles.
I really appreciate your, and everyone elses, input and advice. Got some catching up to do now. Cheers!
