Caught Urinating In Station By Tfl

Hi all embarrassed to ask for advice but here goes. I was out on the booze after work and on my way home drunk but not disorderly I decided to take a leak in a ditch on the station .it was night time and I was concealed however I was approached by two tel officers. the main officer wrote down the offence in his notebook which I signed as he stated it was a non recordable offence for police purposes.he then cautioned me and asked me to come into his room and sign a simple caution letter which I refused as I was initially told by the officer initially that the offence was non recordable which the caution letter said differently. this is my first ever offence at 39 years of age. I don't know what to do apart from take legal advice. should I accept the simple caution or contest it. help

what is a tel officer? Urinating in public is an offence under section 5 of the Public Order Act 1986 and may get you a £80 or a £1,000 fine if prosecuted.I'd take the caution.

Urinating in public surely means exactly that ie. visible to passers by.Was it dark? could anybody have been offended? were there any public toilets available?

What is a tel officer ? Put your hand up and accept caution.

If there were no fingerprinting and breathalyser you wont have a criminal record. Next time keep a bottle handy.

TFL , my bad . No witnesses apart from tfl officer who viewed it from behind and would not have directly seen me. I am being issued the caution under byelaw 6 of the railways byelaw. From the posts it suggests I should just accept the punishment

lucky you for early warning & no criminal record. I cant see how you can deny the offence without expensive legal help. Best to cut your losses and accept the caution. Put it down to a weak bladder ;-/

You know what to do next time, ask the transport police if you can use their lavatories. How could they refuse.

I have a lot of sympthy for you Pravstar,
I have had radiotherapy to my bladder so I dont have to get drunk to get caught short and I can tell you it is absolute hell.
Especially when they close the public lavs and then ask why are you pissing on the street.

My sympathies - no advice on the caution I am afraid.
