Where to live..
Can anyone help. Am about to start a job in Hull, but need to live in York with my boyfriend who works just north of York. Which side of York should I look to find a house on, and what is the commute like?
Thanks

Living in York or Hell, err sorry Hull! Tough call. I don't do the commute, I'm always car based but if you are dirving, I'd look at living in a village just south or east of york. York has a reputation for being very anti car user, parking charges resident parking areas etc make it very difficult and expensive for many. I go to york at least twice a week on business and for an hours meeting I will often pay around 3 to 3.50 to park. If you will drive to Hull, it isn't that bad but when there's an accident on the route it makes if long and arduous. If you're travelling by train just south of the city centre would be my favourite. A bit further to walk to the station but for the houses well worth it. York is a truly beautiful city, I hope you are happy there but don't expect to be able to drive through the city centre with ease, it just doesn't happen. X
