Way home from work, waiting second in the queue at a roundabout the taxi in front pulled away, I checked I was clear to the right and pulled away too. Except by this point the taxi had stopped. So SMACK goes the front end of my car into his. As you can imagine, quite a few bad words exited my mouth.
Not much damage thankfully but he did have a woman and two kids in the back so no doubt they'll all be claiming for whiplash. Althing the driver was extremely nice about it all.
So, got home and decided I should call my insurance comoany to report it. After being on hold for god knows how long a voice came on the line saying "I'm sorry but nobody is available to take your call...." At which point, I said, "oh go f**k yourselves". When I heard the voice continue, "I'm very sorry madam but I can get someone to call you in the morning". I thought it was a recorded message!! Thankfully, after profuse apologies from me the girl thought it was quite funny and told me to have a cup of tea.
So in a way, I'm very thankful for nice, understanding people today but now I'm waitng for 'thing' number 3. :(
From reading all the horror stories revolving around roundabouts I read on AB I am certainly grateful for their non-existence where I live. They seem to be some kind of malevolent black hole into which innocent drivers are sucked in at one end and ejected screaming, swearing, and sometimes injured at the other.
I think the passengers claim off the taxi company as they were using their service, and then the taxi company claim off you. It is infuiating and i tend to always watch for this as my sister had a similar incident years ago and she was furious at the woman in front who had only decided to abort her entrance to the roundabout because of a sneeze! no traffic coming at all!
Bad luck. I almost suffered the same fate on Monday. The person in front of me pulled forward and looking to my right all way clear I proceeded and managed to stop just before hitting the noodle in front who had stopped for some reason.
It happened to me but I was the one hit. I turned left at a mini roundabout and a car was reversing out of an alleyway. The car behind obviously did what you did. The annoying thing about it was it was opposite my house!!
