It's such a shame that young couples these days struggle to rent or get a mortgage. Even our Royals are having to cut there cloth and live in a pokey 57 bedroom flat.

Oh I miss read the story ...it's 57 rooms ...not bedrooms ....
Is that 2 bedrooms and 50 bathrooms maybe ?
perhaps they are expecting to have lots of children..
57 rooms,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,one does need some space, don't ya know !!!!!!
Typical biased media reporting, trying to stir up readers' emotions by highly selective printing of the facts.

So what if it has cost £1m? That money has all ended up in the pockets of tradesmen and suppliers.
Where are they supposed to live? Maybe is two-up, to-down somewhere?
i also suspect from reading the piece the place would have had to be refurbished anyway whether they live there or not. Personally i hope they have a happy life together.
will they be paying rent and council tax, who pays for utilities ? I wonder ?

If the tax payer would like to give me £30,000 to fund my new loft conversion ....I promise I will use local traders.

Well the goods news is rather than moaning about being taxed to death and supporting the multi millionaire royals at a cost of 53p a year ....I have taken action. Off to a low tax country. On return will not work and live off savings.
The final straw for me was a capital gains bill for gains 12 years ago ...that even I did know I owed !.....
what low tax country, Greece>
Question Author
Greece is not the word lol
so it is x
they don't pay tax, from my experience.

The only way I'm going to build up a net egg for retirement is to escape the UK tax system for a few years.
It simply don't pay to start from scratch and do well in the UK.
You would think it would be better to tax people at less than 30% and have a tax income , than tax them at 45% and get nowt because they got up and left.
But hey ho ....
Bit worrying for them if they want to refurnish, all out of their own pockets. New curtains alone for 57 rooms are going to cost £150k at a rough guess.
sir raven, that is how Labour operate. tax the so called rich until the pips squeak, how does one define rich nowadays i wonder.
So?

I am happy that I am contributing to this!
Yes but when Kate has the baby she'll be glad she only has 57 bedrooms when she starts cleaning. Anything bigger will drive her mad.
