Wallpaper Or Paint.!

Another question I would like an opinion on please.? three plain white painted walls.Done. But on the fireplace wall do I A -- paint it B- Wallpaper it. and in the Alcoves, the same A or B.

I have the chimney breast and the alcoves papered but I wish I'd stuck with just the chimney breast.

Many thanks. I have just wallpaper the chimney brest and it looks great. Now not sure what to do with the fireplace backing. We have a gas fire...but never use it and the back panel is brown and beige...which doesn't look right as the wallpaper is black and white. Have also painted fire surround white. So what can I do with the backboard.? X
