Gas Fires

I do not have a chimney and wish to buy a gas fire to replace existing electric one. I am undecided between 'balanced flue' and 'power flue'.
I prefer an open one, without the glass, but I would appreciate any advice if you have one of these fires, also I don't know the best make and model or any on line retailers. Thank you in advance.
