Apologies for posting this bit of self-indulgence, and apologies also to anyone who abhors betting, but there is no-one to hear my little bit of good news.

Tonight I bet £10 at 13/2 on Spain to win 3-0 and that is what they did, so I made a profit of £65. And the only reason I bet that much on the game was that last night I bet £5 on Brazil to win 4-2, which came in at 40/1 so I made a profit of £200 on that.

My life is quite pathetic and so it seems almost unbelievable when something like this goes right (I should add that most of the profit has already been withdrawn from the bookies back to the bank account, and I do have proof if anyone doubts it).

thank you, however i went for 3-1 tonight and a complicated statistics bet for last night's game and wasn't close in either

That's the thing about betting isn't it? In the end it comes down to things we can't control.

Still, as long as you have fun and don't ruin your life or throw away money you can't afford to lose, there's no harm in it.

I'm currently about 67% up on my professional poker career. Or rather, won £10 from a total £15 staked.
