Mis-Pronounciation

Mr Alba and I were playing a word game, the solution was Violist which I pronounced as Viol (as in Violent)
He snorted and said it's vee-olist, you know, alba, a musician.

Lawdy, I got an A in Higher English, my defence was there were less words around then, to which he agreed.
I'm now thinking of a patio :-)

why not say they're all dead (violists) so we dont know how they pronounced their names

when I was little I was reading my sister a story about the sea - the end of the line came at the wrong place, I read "there are Leg Ends of sea serpents"
