Have any site statistics ever been given e.g. top 10 question setters (and how many questions they have each posted), likewise for answers, longest serving active members, any other stats which might come to mind? You did once post a list of the 10 top recipients of best answer awards but is that the only time?

That would be interesting. I don't know about posters from before 2007, and I but I could make a pretty good guess at the 20 current main candidates, so for a fee could look through their profiles. But what about users who have had multiple names, including those such as dotty who are quite open about it

Stick to the usernames on the site, multiple ids count separately and keeps it simple.

All I could afford to give you would be a best answer.

Hi bibblebub- I've only had a few minutes for AB over the last 5 days and am working again tomorrow but I'm hoping for a day off on Wednesday/Thursday so will try to have a look then- unless Ed comes up with something in the meantime
my 24,351 answers from dot.hawkes are still here, the 3530 from dothawkes are still here, 979 from DottyH are still here, 1297 from DotH are still here, and the 14178 from dotty. are still here, plus the 2600 from this one, I think I've spent too long on AB lol
The top of the 'league table' of 'best answers' at the moment (to the best of my knowledge and with sincere apologies to anyone I've missed out):

2420 : Lie-in King
1727: Bibblebub
976: Factor-fiction
822: [No, not him, surely? That can't possibly be right!]
805: Boxtops
561: ChuckFickens
504: Cupid04

The longest-serving member is Andy-Hughes, since he was involved with setting up the site.

Who is 'no not him'?
Never mind the width, feel the quality......

take out crosswords and what does best answer look like?
Doh! That was meant to be a search.
I'v got over 51000 answers which is also worrying. I wonder how many times I've repeated the phrases " how many letters please and do you have any placed?", "do you have a link for that please?" or "that TV ads site is a good site"
>>>Who is 'no not him'?

It was a poor attempt at modesty ;-)
Well done, Chris x
That list is a good start Chris (Buenchico). I can immediately think of two more names for the list- dannyk13 has almost 1200 best answers and kayakamina should be in there too (nearly 600).

There may also be some from the past that have been overlooked- there used to be someone else who answered loads of crossword questions up to around 2009/10 but I've forgotten the name.

It would be very simple for Ed or one of the minions to find out the stats for different categories using the AB databases rather than people having to work them out manually, and so they could be published occasionally e.g. in the newsletter or post them in Editor's Blog.
Buenchico.......Add yourself to Best Answers....824 at moment of posting.

Al.
factor, some of my answers will be as above "do you have any letters" - and more recently "oops, that was me ^, not nibble..." :-)
