Winter Fuel Payment

Can anyone advise me? I am about to send in my application for the Winter Fuel Allowance. Does my wife need to do the same or is it one per household?

If two people in the same home are eligible it's half each.

Payments are (in most cases) £200 per household but they're made to individuals. So a single person would get £200 but two (qualifying) people living together each get £100.

So it appears that you BOTH need to apply.

Can I say I never filled a form in and just received it into my bank account of which perhaps they had asked for details for bank details. But, no form as far as I can remember.

If you're receiving the State Pension you will get it paid automatically, you don't need to apply for it.

I didn't fill in a form, mine just appeared - and I wasn't drawing my State pension at that point, although I was eligible for it, I'd deferred it.
