wonky ears and glasses

have recently started wearing glasses and have noticed that because my ears aren't level my glasses aren't sitting straight on my face. It's rather annoying having to constantly correct it. Apart from contacts or corrective ear surgery is there something you can do? Surely I'm not the only person who isn't perfectly aligned. The arms of my glasses are those really thin bendy ones so I don't know if anything could be added to them. Any help much appreciated

Take them back to optometrists and they will make them fit ok. Not everybodies head are even. I have a gland behind my ear that should be at the side of my neck.

A friend had the same trouble and got fed up with us laughing at her so she went back to the opticians and they were fixed in minutes. It must be a common problem, I suppose. Please don't have your ears re-aligned!!

This problem is more common than you might think. My head is asymmetrical, having been modified by a horse 30 years ago. If you take the glasses back, they would prefer to have the opportunity to adjust them rather than have you telling people that they don't fit.

actually, its even more common than that. Totally symmetrical people are very rare indeed, if they exist at all. Naughty old optician not checking the fit properly in the first place!

This question has been asked previously - I advised then that as a specs wearer of forty plus years, i have never had a pair that didn;t need adjustment after initial fitting. If your prescribing optician can't get them right, walk into any high street optician and ask them for adjustment - they usually do it for free as a 'goodwill' gesture.
