The track is located in a quiet, semi-rural, area to the south of Belfast. Given the price of scrap metal now how long before a replacement is needed?

You are an adult and responsible for your own future. If despite advice from your mother, step dad and folks on here you go ahead with your plan, do not expect any sympathy when it backfires on you.

I agree, Psybbo.
But leaving large lumps of bronze in quiet locations is asking for trouble.

Ireland has a long history of moving statues but they're usually of the religious type. If this one moves, and I'm sure it will, it will be the first ever verifiable one.

I realise that (in NI particularly) this might be a little controversial - but how about fitting a small explosive device in the plinth which would cover anybody who tries to 'borrow' the statue with something indelible and unpleasant?
