I live near a public trail. intended for walkers, cyclists and horses. Dogwalkers are faced with expensive fines if they don't clear up after their dogs ~ but this doesn't apply to horses. Is this fair?

But to be sure to be sure - if you get into the jaunty cars you can be sure you can be whiffed out or maybe black out within minutes. Only kidding. There is a smell - my goodness you have to go when you have to go.
We live on a lane which horses often leave their poo on, sometimes right outside our house. It really doesn't bother us; it's the country, we expect it. Welshie has the right idea. I scoop it up and use it in the garden. If I want it for the vegetable plot I rot it down with some straw first though. My cat, on the other hand, even though surrounded by open fields chooses to poo in the garden.... And yes it STINKS.
