Kids are having a wee nap so I thought I'd treat myself to a sit down and a nice cold drink.

Opened a bottle of juice produced by a very large drinks firm and poured it into my glass.

A dozen little beetles came floating to the surface... Oh, and what looks like a mosquito...

I only noticed them AFTER I'd taken my first swig... Luckily I hadn't yet swallowed it so I spat it back into the glass.

I'm not normally squeamish, and will pretty much eat anything, but I do like to be aware of what I'm consuming.

My worst I think, 2sp was as a child having a well known cereal biscuit in warm milk while watching TV in the dark.....I had chewed quite a lot of the mouse's skull before thinking....this is different....:-( x

Mmmm...My mother complained and sent the chewed skull to the company. They sent a replacement packet! Stood alone in the cupboard for years..
...unopened. x

I really don't want a replacement bottle. Or anything else, just a bit of sympathy and shared horrors!

On a similar dead mouse theme, I was having a bath in an old farmhouse I was living in and bits of a dead mouse came out of the cold tap. I had got into the bath before I had finished filling it...

At least I didn't eat it...

I drank a cup of coffee (at home) once, and glancing in the bottom when I'd finished noticed the remains of one of those skinny spiders!!! yuk, felt really sick!! Make sure I shelve my migs upside down now.

Eeeww! I was watching a QI last night and they were reading out the "legally acceptable amount" of insects in food. I wish i could remember the statistics, but 30 insect parts came up quite often and there is an "acceptable" amount of faeces in something.

Mags, I do that too. All my mugs and glasses are upside down. Found many a dead spider in my mum's glasses growing up!
