If your recycle bin at home (the one we leave out weekly for the council to collect) is ever so slightly over full (i.e brimming over the edge of the bin, yet not falling out), do they reserve the right to refuse a collection??

Cheeky gits havent taken ours this morning and took everybody elses. We are talking about 3 tins of beans and several lager cans on top of an already full bin, thats all!!

ummmm thanks for spotting that, it is a recycle box (smaller than a bin with no lid)
We have those so yes, def use a carrier bag for excess.
We have 4 wheelie bins now- green, blue, brown and grey!Took a wee while to remember what went where.
It is ridiculous that the "rules" differ so widely from council to council.
Our council takes ALL approved items in green boxes and the collectors (wo)manfully sort through it all, which must be a disgusting job. They discreetly leave any invalid item they find. You can have as many boxes as you like, all provided "free", and if for any reason a collection is missed you can ring the council and they'll collect it the next day.
