I'm pretty certain my DVD player is not multiregional (it was only £20) and I want to buy a box set of a TV series which doesn't look like it's available here. If I get a region 1 set, will it play on a desktop or laptop and will it work if I hook the laptop up to my TV by HDMI leads?

Thanks for any replies.

you could see if there is a code to make it play region 1 on this site http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks - some people say that these codes can damage a machine but the one time I used a code on mine nothing adverse happened

Thanks bibblebubble, there's something similar to my one there.
