New York Open Air Swimming Pools
Hi all, just wondering if anyone has any knowledge of open air pools in New York that you can spend a half day at relaxing and chilling out. We're going in August and it's gonna be baking hot! So wouldn't mind a day just relaxing and cooling off. Thanks.

jno - it can be a totally different experience to what we have at home. In Hong Kong one August about 5 years ago my family and I went to Kennedy town outdoor swimming pool. We still talk about it now. For a start it was free, then there were four pools, a training one, an olympic size one, a childrens one with slides and inflatables and then the ordinary one. This was all on a roof top surrounded by tall apartment buildings. I have since read that due to expansion of the metro the old swimming pool has been knocked down and a new one built, not surrounded by very tall buildings, so the experience we had has now gone forever, but we'll always have our memories of a fantastic afternoon spent on a rooftop where we were the only westerners there!
